The master’s degree program in Charity Studies and Values-based Management prepares you to take on leadership roles in health-care and social-welfare institutions, especially with religiously affiliated service providers and in non-profit organizations. The lecturers will equip you with the skills you need for these roles - such as ethical decision-making and conduct, leadership, organizational development, providing skilled advice, and personal development. Many graduates also work in public administration, education, and medium-sized companies.
- The course is available on a full-time or part-time basis
- No tuition fees
- Possibility to continue to doctoral studies
- Face-to-face classes are usually offered on Friday afternoons and on Saturdays. The other classes take place in blended-learning format, via Zoom or in hybrid format.
- Small learning groups with short communication paths
- Develop of personal, social, and communication competence
- leadership positions in non-profit organizations (welfare associations, Caritas, Diakonie or other social institutions)
- positions in business or management
- working in adult education, consulting, or coaching
- leadership roles in organizations of all kinds
- Admission requirements: Bachelor’s degree, state examination (Staatsexamen), Diplom
- Duration: four semesters (two years). The standard period of study can be extended to up to six semesters (three years).
- 120 credits must be earned
- Courses take place during the regular lecture period
- The program begins in the winter semester
- Enrolment is open from the start of May to 30 September
- Modules are assessed in the semester in which they are taken (e.g., through term papers, written or oral examinations and presentations)
- The master’s thesis is written in the second half of the study period
- Teaching is delivered through lectures, seminars, practical exercises, and excursions
