Friends and Sponsors of the Charity Studies Master's programme
History
In autumn 1999, the first group of students received their Diplom degree certificates from the Faculty of Catholic Theology at the University of Passau after completing the post-graduate degree programme in Caritas Science and Applied Theology. However, after graduation, they wanted to stay in touch with each other, with other students and with "their" university and contribute to the further development of the study programme.
As a result, the "Friends and Sponsors Association of the post-graduate Diplom programme Charity Studies and Applied Theology at the University of Passau" was founded with the following two objectives:
- to promote contacts and an exchange of experience between students and alumni; and
- to support the organisation of courses/events
In March 2010, the association was renamed "Friends and Sponsors Association of the M.A. Charity Studies programme at the University of Passau" to reflect the changes that had taken place.
People and Activities
The association has roughly one hundred members, it holds meetings on a regular basis and organises an annual outing (to Steyr, Budweis, Munich, Ecksberg, Abensberg, Nuremberg, Altötting, Prague, for example) which non-members are welcome to join.
